Raj and I are both thrilled to have received notification yesterday that our images have both made it through to the shortlisted 100 final images that are now in with a chance of Winning one of 10 places to be featured in the Collaborative Remembering Great Apes Book. This is the third book in Margot Raggett’s acclaimed Remembering Wildlife series, which has already featured Remembering Elephants and Remembering Rhinos, which together have already raised over GBP£300,000.00  for Elephant and Rhino Conservation in association with the Born Free Foundation.

Having had a harrowing encounter with the body of a poached Elephant in Kenya, Margot decided she couldn’t bare to stand by and watch Wildlife around the world struggling to survive. She used her background in Marketing & PR and combined it with her new profession of Wildlife Photography to come up with an ingenious plan. With the support of some of the world’s most acclaimed Wildlife Photographers, including the likes of Jonathan & Angela Scott, Greg du Toit, Art Wolfe and many more that she brought together under the banner Wildlife Photographers United. She took to Kickstarter to fund the publishing of the book before it was printed to ensure that every penny from the book sales could be spent directly on wildlife conservation.

The Kickstarter campaign for Remembering Great Apes was the most successful yet and closed off having secured a staggering GBP£126,630.00 from an amazing 1049 backers. Full details can be seen here on Kickstarter, although this section of the campaign has now closed.

The books are currently in design but are available to pre-order here and will be launched with a wonderful evening at the prestigious Royal Geographical Society in London on the 18th October – tickets for this event are already available for purchase by clicking here

There will also be a supporting exhibition of the prints in a London Gallery. So it’s worth following the group on social media so you don’t miss out. There Facebook page is www.facebook.com/rememberingwildlife

It is still possible to buy the first two books in the series, knowing that not just a percentage but every single penny you spend will go straight into Wildlife conservation, they are available on the links below:
